Born and raised in the Heartland, Loren always dreamt of moving somewhere on the coast. This Kansas City, Missouri native acquired her BFA in Graphic Design at the Kansas City Art Institute, and got her first taste of a new place when she studied abroad in Brighton, England and traveled around Eastern Europe. Following graduation, Loren took an intern position at an advertising firm, but decided it was time to switch it up and put her graphic design super powers to the test in sunny Santa Barbara, California. While not at her computer, Loren enjoys the beach, making new friends, the occasional gym visit, and a place where her sarcasm is more than appreciated.

Posted by brian@sendpepper.com on November 20, 2012

This Ventura native came to Santa Barbara, and ONTRAPORT, by way of her beloved Bay Area, where she spent most (well… all) of her adult life. Aylin received a B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.F.A. in Creative Nonfiction from St. Mary’s College of California. She also wrote about food and culture for the San Francisco Bay Guardian, spent a year as a blog manager at a startup (perfect training for ONTRAPORT’s startup feel), and wrote for various and sundry websites. Although she left her heart in San Francisco, Aylin loves the far superior weather in Santa Barbara, running, spending as much time as possible with friends and family, a good burrito and copious amounts of Diet Coke. Oh, and working at a place where she can take her laptop outside on a sunny day!

Born in Bucharest, the beautiful capital of Romania, Andreea moved to the US in the early 1990s. While attending California State University, Fullerton, she decided to pursue a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. When Andreea isn’t managing every detail of Landon’s and Lena’s lives, she likes to indulge in watching some of her favorite movies – mostly classics, like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Casablanca. A fun fact about Andreea… she is infatuated with pandas.

Posted by jenb on September 5, 2012

Zsolt hails from Transylvania, Romania (although  he’s Hungarian) – for those of you wondering if it’s a real place, it is. After slaying Dracula, Zsolt attained a university degree in multimedia design and took a job at EA ,where he worked at both the Bucharest and Vancouver, BC locations as an interface designer on the FIFA franchise. Alas, the experience didn’t make Zsolt a soccer fan. His undying passion has always been design; whether graphics, web, motion, typography, interface, photography, video, or sound, he loves it all. Other hobbies of his include drawing, listening to an expansive palette of musical genres including his favorite band Zero7, and exploring the great outdoors. He’s even been on a 1000km (621 mile) bike ride. A fun fact about him: Zsolt taught himself to tie his shoes at the age of 3 and has been using the same unconventional technique ever since. It was recently discovered that although he had been using the opposite technique as the rest of the world, his knot was actually proven to be sturdier and durable than the ‘normal’ one. In his own words, Zsolt never gets bored: he’s laid back, spontaneous, respectful, honest, passionate, and an explorer of everything worth exploring. It’s no wonder we had to have him on our team.

Lorenzo is a very quick and to-the-point type of guy, which probably has something to do with the fact that he’s ‘wired in’ a good deal of the time. In case you weren’t aware, being ‘wired in’ means you stay focused and block everyone and everything out while programming. It’s what you have to do when you’re a front-end coder like him. Lorenzo’s home state is Montana, a land coated in a myriad of unique landscapes and terrain. He’s also spent a great deal of time in Italy. How much time exactly? We’re not sure; he didn’t say. Allegedly, Lorenzo is also a former professional banjo player – we may have to put that one to the test. When his face isn’t glued to a computer monitor, Lorenzo’s into jiu jitsu. So there you have it – a smart, musical badass who could probably ruin most of us in a fight – another winning combination for the Ontraport team.

Elhanan – what a guy! This strapping young buck migrated to the mainland from Honolulu, Hawaii, and has since tread on the soil of several different countries including Australia and Fiji, as well as several American states and Canadian provinces. In his own words: he does his own stunts and has never turned down a dare as long as the worst case scenario doesn’t include losing a body part or being placed on www.meganslaw.ca.gov.

Brother to 3 other siblings, many would consider Elhanan a passionate, passionate man to whom helping others is second-nature. Helping others comes second-nature to him and he wears his heart on his sleeve. Elhanan wears his heart on his sleeve – the guy even cries when watching romance movies alone (obviously).

Listen up ladies: this might turn your heads. His list of proud accomplishments include: a 64 hour straight gaming session (with bathroom breaks and delivered food), drinking 3 gallons of milk in 24 hours without vomiting, gaining 10 lbs in a day, and losing 15 lbs in 4 hours.Go ahead and ask him how. Elhanan prefers to hang around in his birthday suit due to his heat sensitivity (that’s what he told us) and absolutely loves sushi, Indian, and Mediterranean food. I would cancel that Match.com account right about now…that is, unless all those McConnell’s milkshake specials don’t kill him first.

Brad, one of several Santa Barbara natives working at Ontraport, didn’t have what one would call a conventional upbringing. Home schooled from preschool through the 9th grade, this chipper ball of grins eventually chose to join the rabble and attend public school – a decision he laments to this day. There he was heavily involved with the Santa Barbara High School Madrigal Singers (the school’s elite choir group) as a tenor. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, months into years (well about 2) and after hitting the 11th grade and graduating his singing voice to a bass, Brad shipped off and joined a traveling boarding school with which he ventured to Mexico, Turkey, the Philippines and Argentina within a period of 5 months. We’re all in this together when we say ‘Brad you lucky son-of-a gun!’ Still ahead of the curve, Brad spent his senior year of high school at Santa Barbara City College whilst launching his tech industry career, which landed him safe and sound here at Ontraport.

Though his name might give the impression that he indulges in copious amounts of spaghetti and speaks with his hands quite furiously, you’d hardly know Anthony was Italian. Radiating laughter and musical talent, it’s no surprise he shares the stage with his girlfriend of two years in their band called ‘Lucy Für and Her Bad Habit’. As if being in the band together wasn’t enough, they have a pet rabbit together named Buffy. Anthony loves spending time with his friends, burying his nose in a book, or just nerding out (don’t we all). In the near future, he sees himself finishing a degree in Biological Sciences. Whether plucking heartily at the strings of an acoustic guitar, the bass, or playing the keyboards like an absolute boss, he’s always in good spirits and doesn’t see the need to be upset by life’s little pitfalls. Remember his name; you may someday be seated in a concert hall, your heart and soul impaled on his wondrous lyrics.

Posted by William DeAngelis on August 15, 2012

A true coming of age tale, the story of Andrew’s journey to Ontraport would make for a gripping, best-selling novel. Andrew was born and raised in the great state of Mississippi, joined the military right out of high school, and served on active duty with Operation Iraqi Freedom for 15 months. If you were to ask him about these “good ol’ days”, Andrew would tell you without hesitation that it was the greatest experience of his life, where “I learned so much about myself as well as others.” Upon returning home, Andrew led a quiet life in the city of Jackson, working several different jobs until being called to duty a second time, serving in Iraq once again from 2007 to 2008. After working as a bartender for 3 years following his most recent tour, Andrew made a decision to start building a solid foundation for his future. As it turns out, Andrew was a long-time friend of our very own Mike Bernsen (a superstar in his own right.) After a year of convincing phone conversations and the resulting envy of Mike’s sweet job, Andrew grabbed a hold of the brass ring and landed here at Ontraport. How will you know you’re speaking with Andrew? He’s a super-friendly guy and one of the only two guys to use the word “y’all” on a frequent basis. That – and hopefully he’ll tell you his name when he answers the phone.

Ever heard of Chicago? The band, that is? Danielle is related to one of its founding members – she’s the daughter of the band’s former drummer. Danielle saw her fair share of craziness growing up in the music business, so she decided to take a different path. Ask her about the time she saw… well, never mind. She’s been a resident of Santa Barbara for the last 24 years, and originally from… you go ahead and guess. For the last 20 years or so, Danielle has been part of the aggressive world of sales, most recently selling online collaboration tools, doing remote support, and managing services software. Her golden philosophy is to love, to be loved, and to inspire, striving to help others by sharing her life’s experiences and the wisdom she’s acquired along the way. When she’s not crushing her sales targets, Danielle enjoys volleyball, tennis, snowboarding, hiking, beach runs, and practicing transcendental meditation. Danielle is also a mother to 2 daughters, ages 7 and 12, which adds 2 more to the growing pool of Ontraport employees’ girls. For that, and for her lively and helpful spirit, we welcome her with open arms to the growing pool of Ontraport employees.

A philanthropist through and through, Daniel started his life journey in Sin City before moving to Santa Barbara at the age of 15. Two years after graduating from Dos Pueblos High School in 2004, Dan founded a non-profit organization called Notes for Notes whose objective is to help underprivileged children by giving them free access to musical instruments, instruction and music-making environments. If that doesn’t say heart of gold, then we don’t know what does. Not long after this venture, Daniel co-founded a t-shirt company with his friend Anthony called Ants & Angels, from which the proceeds go to aid causes such as relieving global hunger and helping cancer victims and survivors. There was no question for Dan that he was being presented with a fantastic opportunity for creative expression as well as contributing to the world around him. Dan’s most recent exploits include web design and pointing out the many sights and thrills of his town as a Santa Barbara tour guide. And guess what?…he still volunteers with Notes for Notes today. We think he’ll feel right at home as a member of our ever-growing Ontraport community.

Scott Reed is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, doused in a colorful array of nerdtacularly smart-ass t-shirts and jeans. This self-taught programming prodigy and Spokane, WA native can’t get enough of space and the universe – he’s a true space nerd at his core and damn proud of it. If you need to reach Scott outside of work, check the nearby lake or ocean as boating is one of his favorite hobbies. You may also bump into him at events like Planetfest which he attended most recently in Los Angeles. Here’s a fact he may not want us to let out of the bag: Scott has a 3-step plan for world domination. You’d think he was bluffing, but the guy mastered several coding languages on his own before his 20th birthday. I’m afraid we may have said too much already.

His aspirations of becoming Systems Engineer sparked back in 2001 when he realized how fun building and creating things would be, all while making a career out of it. Since the beginning of his term, Elijah has been busy setting up and maintaining the hardware and middle-ware that hosts the applications our developers produce. When Elijah’s not building things, this Washington native is busy climbing things – mountains that is.

Ontraport’s team members are not without their epic origin stories. A longtime developer for Ontraport and lead systems architect, Steven and his bionic left leg have come a long way. His true age unknown, it is rumored that as an infant Steven was raised by German methodist missionaries in the southeastern region of Belarus. After escaping from an IRA internment facility, posing as a clergy member for 2 years as to avoid detection, and stowing away on a Lufthansa flight to the United States, Steven met Ontraport CEO Landon Ray in a California bowling alley, and the rest, as they say, is history. Although there is no certifiable evidence, scattered documents also suggest Steven’s involvement in the first and second Opium Wars with allegiance to the East India Company. Needless to say, Ontraport would not shine as bright as it does today without his brilliance.

William is a jack of all trades and master of some too. He has a wide variety of creative talents that he uses daily at Ontraport. Originally, William never imagined that he would one day become a designer as his background was mostly in music, theatrics, sports, and business development. However, as soon as he realized he could create art with a mouse and keyboard, William quickly got hooked and has never looked back. He is mostly self taught and his skillset stretches across print, web, and motion design in addition to some front end development. Most recently, he was the architect behind the OfficeAutopilot Membership plugin and continues to be the company’s WordPress wizard. Aside from his passion for all things technology related, William loves coming to work everyday because of his ‘OntraFam.’ The ‘OntraFam,’ he says, is something completely different to anything he’s had anywhere else. ‘They are a group of extraordinary people that feel more like a member of my family than a member of a company.’
